One-third of passengers travel on five of the 179 lines available: the U6 and U3, trams 43 and 6, as well as bus 13A.
The U1, U4, 44 and 14A lines are also well utilised. This means that the intersections at Meidlimg, Schottentor, Hauptbahnhof and Stephansplatz are highly frequented.
The network analysis shows that the planned route of the U2 and U5 will provide relief to the existing network, while also creating reserve capacity for the future.
